French sports analyst Florent Gotreau has weighed in on the future of Paris Saint-Germain goalkeepers Matvey Safonov and Luc Chevalier for next season. "It can be said that Safonov managed his role well, but when Luis Enrique sought to replace Donnarumma, he looked for a more suitable option. Chevalier missed his opportunity. Although Safonov had a very good season, he is not the elite-level goalkeeper that the club needs for the Champions League. Following this logic, the question regarding the goalkeeper position remains open," Gotreau told RMC Sport. Over the season, the Russian goalkeeper played 27 matches for the club across all competitions, conceding 28 goals while achieving 12 clean sheets. Additionally, Safonov became the first Russian to win the Champions League twice.
