Jamie Carragher has made it clear that Andoni Iraola needs to set the Premier League title as a target for Liverpool next season. After Arne Slot's departure, Iraola stepped in as Liverpool's new manager with a two-year contract, following a successful stint at Bournemouth, where he led them to a Europa League qualification. Despite last season's struggles, finishing 25 points behind champions Arsenal and securing no trophies, Carragher insists that the Reds must aim high. Liverpool ended the season with 60 points, a record low for a team finishing fifth or higher since Tottenham in 2006-07. Carragher expects a busy transfer window and believes that Liverpool, with its strong squad and financial backing, should challenge for the league title. "Yes, they can [challenge next season]," Carragher stated on Sky Sports. "The era of long-term projects is over. Liverpool are expected to compete immediately, and Iraola should be no different."
